That’s right folks, now those of you living within 14 lucky states will enjoy the same tax-free experience (or close to it) that Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon do. Ok, so your tax-free shopping spree only lasts one day… but one day is better than none! And the best part is that while most states do not collect sales tax on that day for clothing and shoes, many states are extending their tax-free shopping list to include educational supplies and even computers and software. So if you’ve been eyeing that new 20″ iMac then these tax-free days are the time to buy it!

Hi. I was checking on the 2006 tax free shopping days for AL and GA, and I have come up with mixed dates. According to the website http://www.legis.state.ga the tax free dates are Aug 3-6, 2006. Would love to know for sure!

As much as I try and be completely accurate, I know that I make mistakes. Also, states often change those dates. So I would go with the state’s website - you might even try calling your state offices or your local stores - they’ll surely know about it as well!
