I’ve been testing the new design for a few days now, so I think most of the bugs are worked out. But if you happen to see anything please let me know! Any other parent who reads this blog will understand my reasons behind throwing together KinderQuotes.com. My kids, like most, say the funniest, cutest, or most embarrassing things throughout the day. Sometimes it’s funny because they’re learning to master this silly language we call English. Sometimes they try to mimic my wife and I and spout off adult-like language from their little three year-old mouths. But many times my wife and I have turned to each other and said, “we should write that down.”

Enter KinderQuotes.com. We created the blog to help us jot down those funny, cute, and embarrassing quotes in a way we can share with friends, family, and the web in general. However, we’ve also set up a contact form that anyone can use to submit their favorite quote.

Sure, there are always going to be people who have more stuff than you - more money, better cars, bigger house - and there will always be people with a better job or who do better in the stock market - but then again, you are probably doing better than many people yourself… and that’s something to be grateful for.

Now, I’m not going to be blogging as much as I did before, but my goal is to write something at least once a week. However, my most recent move has been a nightmare that I am just now starting to wake up from. My wife and I knew that moving back to the bay area was going to be tough but we never knew it was going to be this difficult to move in - which is part of the reason the posting lately has been “spotty” at best. But, after a few failed attempts to move in to places that we thought were “sure things” we have finally begun to move into our new home. And now that we have a new address I have begun the arduous task of moving our life to that address - changing billing addresses, magazine subscriptions, updating employer information, etc. And throughout this whole process I have asked myself why there isn’t a service out there that can do all this for me?

I would love to see a service called “We Move For You” that took care of all the annoying details that come with moving. I’d love to hand the service my new address and say, “Move me!” at which point the service would switch every utility, service, billing address, magazine subscription, etc. to my new address. I’ve literally spent hours on the phone already just trying to get myself a home phone line. And Internet? That’s a completely different beast! Apparently it’s very difficult to flip the “on” switch and I’m forced to wait over a week for simple DSL service.

If anyone out there wants to go into businesses and start up “We Move For You” drop me a line. Maybe together we can make the world a better place. And if not, well… at least moving won’t be so difficult!

Due to a number of reasons, I will soon have less time to blog than I would like to; however, I don’t want to decrease the number of posts on BeancounterBlog. As you can see, it’s going to be very difficult to do both. In order to continue to bring you quality personal finance-related articles, I’m looking for other writers to help contribute.

What do you get out of it? That’s a great question. Blogging for BeancounterBlog won’t make you rich. I blog because I love to write and love educating people on business and money-related topics. I’m looking for other people who would like to do the same. You’ll get full credit for everything you write of course, and IF BeancounterBlog starts making money in the future, then you’ll also get your fair share of that too. You don’t necessarily have to be a blogger though, or even an “expert” in a finance-related field. If you can write fairly well and enjoy personal finance, then I would encourage you to contact me. My dream of course is to have a good number of writers throwing around ideas and collaborating on post ideas. Hopefully, you can bring your own personal finance experience and “expertise” to the table and make BeancounterBlog the “goto” place for personal finance news, information, and advice.
